Bea the name she was given as her maiden name, is a tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian died at the age of three. He was an equine veterinarian. Bea wasn't told the details of how he passed away until she turned 13. She chose the stage name Bea to honor her father who passed away. Bea also wrote an article published in The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher jockey trainer and professional jockey for a time. The family was horse and race meeting obsessed. When she was a child, Bea employed as a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young stage that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and was a performer.
