Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a famous American actor. Most notably, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. Grace has been in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon on the finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. The year was 2013, and she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith as the muse and fan of the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in her father's movies and was co-starring with her brother in Donnie Darko which is a famous cult film. She also appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. In the wake of several successful commercial films like World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). Following that, she went on to star in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (12). Other characters include as a secret agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and also the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the lead role. In 2021, Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
